Common Alloy Numbers: 304 (4), 439 (1) —— Numbers in parentheses indicate the number of affected areas, useful for quoting and material preparation.

  • Key Points
  • Thickness Range: 1–2 mm —— For thin plates, consider bending rebound and deep drawing cracks; for thick plates, consider heat input and sensitization.

Common Issues

Which stainless steel is used most often on elevators and escalators?
Based on the total number of parts, 304 (4 items) and 439 (1 item) are the most common. Specific to a part still depends on the medium and temperature; for example, an stainless steel countertop requires switching from 304 to 316L when exposed to saltwater.
Which part is prone to problems?
Based on failure descriptions, typical issues include "cab wall/door/hall door": frequent contact with cleaning agents, scratches, and fingerprints. Recommended alloy: 304, minimum thickness ≥1.2mm. For these conditions, it's recommended to specify the medium concentration, temperature, and washing method in design.
What thickness should I choose?
The listed thickness range is 1–2 mm. Thin plates are considered for forming and surface quality; thick plates for welding strength and structural integrity. Different manufacturers may have different values for the same part based on their drawings or conditions. Recheck your requirements.
